Howdy,
I am pleased to undertake the study of Japanese, as the language and culture has long interested me. Like many of my classmates, I have been exposed to a variety of anime, manga, and video games. I have thrice visited Japan for business, and was limited by my inability to converse. I hope to become--to whatever small degree--conversant, and to achieve literacy, excepting the kanji characters not covered in our course of study.
